There’s surprisingly no AW racing today, but the jumps more than make up for it. I’ve looked at a couple closely today but the one I’ve settled for is:

Hatta Stream – 5:05 Kempton – 16f NH Flat Race – Rating * * * * *

I just don’t why Hatta Stream should be the favourite for this as he looked anything but a future winner waiting to happen on his debut at Southwell. OK he challenged just before the final bend when they were three abreast but he failed to stay and the first and second pulled right away from him. Only two from that race have run since but both were comprehensively beaten so the form, initially anyway, doesn’t look that hot. Hatta Stream’s sire Oasis Dream has surprised me at stud as he’s had winners at all types of distances, although he has struggled with his National Hunt runners having had just one winner from 25 runners. Hatta Stream looks anything like a stayer and there are plenty of stoutly bred types lining up against him and I’ll be disappointed if again at least a couple of these don’t out stay him. He’s currently trading at an appetising 3.3 so let’s take him on and get March off to the best possible start.
